Education is such an important part of our lives. Especially in our time as children and young adults, it’s likely that more than half of our waking life revolves around school and learning.

And yet, how many of us feel seen, supported and encouraged by the educational systems we go through?

When we finish school, we are invited to discover our own path in the world, maybe for the first time.. How do we navigate this path of self-knowing in which we ask ourselves how to inhabit this world? How do we ignite our feeling and thinking in an authentic and empowered way, discover agency in our lives and develop conscious will to transform the world around us?  

Turning to important questions emerging from this, we are excited to announce the launch of:

Structures for Freedom – Social Riddles of Education-
A worldwide youth-led project by the Youth Section at the Goetheanum.

From the Youth Section at the Goetheanum and around the world, this initiative invites young people everywhere, to join a shared journey of questioning, creating, and reimagining the structures that shape our learning and becoming.

In a  world full of complexity and change we ask:

-> How can we develop as free human beings? 

-> What is the role of education in that development?

Structures for Freedom is unique in both its framing and implementation: it is grounded in the idea of "youth wisdom" — that the world of the future is already present as a seed in young people — and it is developed and led by youth themselves. This makes it not only a space of inquiry, but a practice of freedom in action.

That is why, we are inviting youth from all around the world to join us, not only to attend the confluence in July but to contribute and co-create a broader process.

Start Your Own Youth Event
We aim to create a global network that creates spaces where young people can come together to ask meaningful questions, explore their experiences, and express what truly matters to them. 

You are invited to create your own Youth Event, — a space of your making, where young people come together to reflect, question, create and connect. Whether it’s a regular workshop, a one-off retreat or camp, a creative jam, a weekly discussion circle or study group  — format and frequency is up to you. These self-organized events are already starting around the world.  

We would love to hear your voices on education!

Everyone comes with their own path and experience of how they were shaped by structures of education. We will send out and would like to co-create a tool kit with some questions, ideas and formats that we would like to encourage you to explore. 

We are also organising a gathering in July at the Goetheanum that will greatly enrich reflections that may emerge from the youth events. If you would like to get involved, are inspired to share experiences, learn from one another, ask these questions, experience art, and imagine the future together, come join us at the:
