Youth Initiative Africa: abuot the group and the Youth Conference and Safari in Tanzania!
We are very excited and thrilled to announce our very first conference (and Safari!), "Navigating Anthroposophy with African Culture as our Compass." This event will take place from the 23rd - the 28th of September, 2025, in Vikindu, Tanzania. Anyone who does youth work and is interested in Anthroposophy is welcome to join! Follow us on Instagram or reach out via email if you want to know more (details below).
The Youth Initiative Africa is a group of African youth between the ages of 16-35 interested in Anthroposophy, affiliated with the Youth Section at the Goetheanum - School of Spiritual Science.
Our group was officially established in July of 2023 after two members attended the first Youth Section Co-workers Gathering in Dornach.
Before 2024, this group was called “Youth Group Tanzania,” but after realizing the need to bring all African youth together in the light of Anthroposophy, and especially with the establishment of the new African Anthroposophic society, we now have a wider platform as African Youth.
Our purpose is to mainly include the youth and younger generations to engage in Anthroposophy and its practices for a better life. We also aim to help create much more youth-centered access to Anthroposophy here. We embrace inclusivity and diversity in all its forms. Our group includes members with special needs, and we strive to create a movement that supports and empowers each and all of us. As of now, we have members from Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Angola, and South Africa.
We believe that as youth, we are able to create a better life, answer our own questions, understand ourselves more in-depth as well as society, and hopefully reconnect to our spirituality as the term Anthroposophy itself also translates to the wisdom of the human being.
