The Youth Section in the UK hosted an event at White's Farm

Each summer, members of the Youth Section in the UK gather together to form meaningful connections and deepen their understanding of Anthroposophy. This year's event, kindly organised by Derek Lapworth and hosted by Alastair and Denise Gordon at White's Farm, focused on two related themes:

- the 100th anniversary of the lectures and events surrounding Rudolf Steiner's visit to Torquay and Tintagel

- what it means to be young in these times and how to navigate this courageously with support from each other and the wider community.

Highlights of our time together included a discussion with Mick Young on Christ-centred ways of relating and communicating, James Dyson's talk about the Saturn Path, visiting the 100th anniversary exhibition in Totnes where we met and had many interesting conversations with local anthroposophists, exploring light and sense phenomena with Alastair Gordon's sit-in pinhole camera, and a very special trip to Tintagel.

The times we spend together are always so valuable - one can feel quite isolated as a young anthroposophist, and so when we come together it is such a wonderful feeling. We may all be different in many respects, especially regarding our outer, daily lives, but there is an inner connection shared by all of us, reminding us that we are colleagues, spiritually growing and striving, supporting each other as we walk our individual paths.

Youth Section member Dasha Machova adds:

“The time spent with this beautiful bunch of fellow human beings made me realize even more that we are creators. We are looking for new ways. We have faith that is giving us fuel to carry on. Meeting inspiring people of all ages, the dynamic within our group, the engaging conversations, the program that has been so well outlined for us, the exhibitions we attended, and of course, the beautiful environment of the farm and surrounding area - all this added to the truly enriching experience.”

The Youth Section has been in somewhat of a slumber recently, but this special event ignited our enthusiasm and a small group of us are already thinking ahead to next summer. In these challenging times, it feels so important to bring young people together so that they can share their questions with each other, feel united in their longing for the spiritual, and give each other the strength to go out into the world again.

On behalf of the Youth Section, I would like to say a huge 'thank you' to everyone who made the event possible, and for letting us camp and cook at the farm.
