Memes that Matter / Conversations that Count

Memes that Matter / Conversations that Count

Dear colleagues of the Youth Section,

I am launching a series of online meetups that explore the meaningful image (meme) as a catalyst for conversations that count. I have created a number of such memes to offer a contemporary context for R. Steiner’s social ideas. They are not the message, but the messengers to stimulate the act of knowing and the art of conversation. Their task is to challenge conventional thought with unconventional thinking, and transcend polarised opinions with the multipolar perspective of metaphors.

My hope is to stimulate social imaginations we already carry, but are rarely aware of. Memes that Matter, is an attempt to make this awareness grow in and through community. It is strongly inspired by J. Beuys’ idea of society as an artwork, the individual as the artist and social threefolding as the most appropriate means to realise collective potential.

As Memes that Matter is conceived as an artwork, I do not intend to approach threefolding directly, i.e., in a didactic way. My aim is to foster a culture of thinking and conversation in which socially transformative ideas can unfold of their own accord.

You can join any time.
Memes that Matter / Conversations that Count is donation based.
