Preparing ‘Cynefin - Communities of the Future'
We are happy to announce that an intergenerational ‘Cynefin - Communities of the Future’ gathering will take place 23rd-27th September 2026 at the Felin Uchaf centre in Northern Wales.
The preparation group (Martha Newman, Rhys Moore, Ezra Sullivan, Martin Schwarz and Jan Troller) got together in early January to explore the landscape of the Llyn peninsula. We were warmly welcomed by representatives of the Felin Uchaf community who were excited at the idea of hosting an anthroposophical gathering. Felin Uchaf has over two decades of history of land stewardship, natural building and supporting the growth of young volunteers through the practice of traditional craftsmanship.
The Llyn Peninsula’s Arthurian landscape holds an ancient spiritual legacy and the holy island Ynys Enlli (Bardsey) is only a few miles away. This landscape feels the ideal space to draw inspiration for the renewal of the mysteries in our times. Cynefin, this Welsh word captures the feeling of the interwoven relationship of human beings, landscape and the beings who dwell there and how we belong to each other. By coming together in this way we may help each other to remember who we are and why we are here and return enlivened and strengthened to our daily lives.
Whilst this is primarily an anthroposophical youth initiative for those living in or with a strong relationship to Great Britain, we hope to create an open and welcoming space where all those, who feel certain questions on the nature of man and the universe as an elemental need of life, just as one feels hunger and thirst, are welcome regardless of age, nationality or the level of their commitment to anthroposophy.
Anyone who would like to get involved in organising this gathering can reach out at cynefin2026@gmail.com and we are looking forward to meeting many of you in September.
