Dearest friends of the Youth Section,
In recent weeks, the co-workers at the Goetheanum have been busy working on house renovations, studying, and preparing an artistic contribution for the event “Working for Freedom and the Common Good, bringing a new life into the Economy”, which will take place at the Goetheanum from September 19-21. In light of this event, you will find an article titled “Liberated Gift Money” along with an episode of “Questions of Courage” in which you can learn about the history and ideas behind this event. We are also sharing the link to REGISTER and HERE a short video with a special invitation.
As you know from previous newsletters, we have been discussing the original tasks of the Youth Section, as well as reading some of Maria Röschl-Lehrs' work, whom you will be able to meet from various perspectives as you scroll down. If, in meeting her and the tasks of the Section, questions about the School of Spiritual Science arise, there will be a number of open lectures for young people in Dornach dedicated to this, which you can attend!
Moving into the area of the performing arts, in October, the fourth edition of "Question! Encounter! Play!" will take place in Dornach. This theatre project explores social, artistic, and biographical elements, which we combine into a play! The final performance will be on Saturday, October 12, if some of you happen to be around! Oh, and for those passionate about arts, the School of Performing Arts in Dornach, has open enrollment for the course starting in January 2025. Similar opportunities can be found in the teachings and work of our friends at Thoreau College in Wisconsin, USA! In a few weeks, the students will be performing. Time and location are shared below.
Furthermore, we share the video and the booklet of the International Students’ Conference held in April, which keeps our spirits lit with enthusiasm for the future. And for a moment of reflection, a detailed article describing with beautiful pictures what happened at the Youth Conference in Camphill in May.
And for those of you who already are or want to head south, friends from Australia and Argentina are also organizing festivals and youth gatherings next month! But before leaving you to enjoy all these exciting and colorful offerings, take a quiet minute to read Ángela's poem - which I won't spoil by trying to describe - and who, by the way, will be hosting a workshop with our colleague Manuela on poetry and the art of bookbinding.
With hope to see many of you soon, Jacinta Gorchs on behalf of the team |
