Dear friends from all around the world!

In this newsletter, we want to share about the financial picture of bringing 600 high school students together in Switzerland and put this matter into focus.

Switzerland might not be considered as the ideal place to host an accessible international conference for young people, as the basic costs for accommodation and food are notably higher than in neighbouring countries. However, there is a great significance in the space where we host this conference: at the Goetheanum, an important place for the General Anthroposophical Society, the School for Spiritual Science as well as the Waldorf movement.

But of course we are also aware that many people are not in a position to pay for their travel to Switzerland, and then on top of that to contribute financially towards the conference.
We have been in touch with many students, teachers and classes that are fundraising with all their heart to make the trip to Dornach possible. Arranging concerts, bake sales, carwashes, performances, restaurant evenings, crafting projects,... the list of creative and community creating fundraisers goes on!
For those who need financial support for the contribution towards the conference, we have set up a form on the website, which is shared in this newsletter.

In our next newsletter, we will again share more on the content and projects related to the conference!

In total, the real costs per participant come to 550 – 600 CHF for the conference. We are asking a financial contribution of about half of that (275 CHF). To make this conference possible for everyone, we are currently fundraising about 185.000 CHF.

After an intense phase of grantwriting, we are now reaching out to individuals, companies and small businesses to ask for donations.

In this spirit, we would like to make an appeal to the schools’ networks, family members and friends to support young people to come together despite these difficult times we live in. We would be very grateful for your support and will to help young people find their way to the Goetheanum!

If you are able to fundraise more than you need, please consider contributing to our scholarship fund too! This will help other students to be able to attend our International Students' Conference.

Currently, a community of 24 people has contributed a total of 656 CHF to our scholarship fund.

Can you donate too?
Whatever small amount, be it 1 CHF, 10 CHF, 100 CHF or more, will go directly into the scholarship fund!

You can request a donation receipt for tax purposes. If you have contacts with individuals, businesses or schools that might be interested in this opportunity, please forward this information!

To request financial support, please fill out the form on the website. You can either fill it out as an individual, or as a (class) group.

We have gathered some questions there that will help us to get a picture of how much support you will need to be able to join us in April.
These questions might also give you a pause for thought: how much support do I really need?

Please request financial support by Wednesday, the 21st of February, 2024. We will get back to you in the last week of February. You do not need to register for the conference before.
