We warmly invite you all to the upcoming International Students' Conference from April 10 - 14, 2024 at the Goetheanum.

The conference invites 16 to 20 year-olds from all over the world to meet and live together for 5 days, to discuss some of the big questions of our time and to find a common impulse of the youth that may manifest itself here at the Goetheanum in Switzerland.

In March 2023 we had the first in-person team meeting for the ISC24 in Dornach. The theme of the conference crystalized itself throughout the weekend out of what was present in our lives and hearts: "Taking Heart - Finding our way together".
This theme should indicate the direction of the conference's content, not only to support you in finding your ways to our venue from around the world, but also to speak to the virtues of the heart, such as courage, love, trust, and hope, through our coming together.

We expect about 600 high school students, who may arrive with their school class, in smaller groups from the same region or join the event individually. The experiences from previous ISC's since their launch in 2015, have taught us that the participants and all meaningful encounters will represent the heart of the meeting. The great diversity of places and journey's that each participant brings with them will make the ISC an unforgettable event for each and everyone of us.

We wish to inspire courage in young students to work together and face the future with the strength that comes from a diverse and collaborative group. When we openly learn from each other, we see where we can combine our attributes to fill in for another, and by doing so can discover new ways to go about the issues our world is facing, ways we wouldn’t be able to find each on our own. As a bundle of arrows is unsnappable whereas a single arrow is weak, so much stronger are we as a team compared to separate individuals. But in order to find our way together, it is required of each member to find independently in themselves the will force to start tackling the immense struggles of our globe. We want to transform each patio, field, and hall into a forum of excited and passionate faces and lively voices! Guest speakers will give inspiration and share their wisdom in lectures. Workshops will provide the space for reflection and exploration so that the new inspiration will get the opportunity to take form. In between, games will be played, songs will be sung, and art will be performed and experienced, so that we will become not just a group of students, but a group of friends. Our goal is to provide a space where connections can be made across countries and even continents so that through all those different lenses through which the world is perceived, a new clarity can be discovered.

In this newsletter, we will give regular updates on the contributors, workshops and more details on the program of the conference as well as the start of the registration.
We are not able to share all of the important specifics about the event yet, but hope that we can do so soon. Please be patient as we are working hard on all the details!
Furthermore, please don't hesitate to get in touch if you have any specific questions.

Many students and teachers have reached out to us regarding the costs for the conference. We are happy to be able to share this now, so everyone can continue planning their trip as well as have a clearer goal for raising funds.

The financial contribution for the International Students' Conference 2024 will be 275 CHF. This covers food, accommodation, the conference program and commute to and from the places where we will sleep.
Travel to and from Dornach should be arranged independently.

We are aware that this is a substantial contribution we are asking from participants. The total costs for the conference per participant are double this amount, the other half we aim to fundraise.

If you are able to fundraise more than you need, please consider contributing to our scolarship fund! This will help other students to be able to come to Dornach.
