Patience
Fair skinned and heraldin’
hopeful times
I’m full of love and ideas
And I see us on the path to glory
But before we
Tell stories of truth
We have to know freedom
Be free from self
Melt the veils
Scale the wall of pride
Demand everything we’ve been denied.
Like I’ve been denied true service
And I am nervous
It’s all worthless
Trying to preserve this
Fire, wired to love freely
We can’t really
Because we must
Live our lives intertwined
With minds that aren’t just
Even more unjust
You’ve been denied
Simple rights
Your simple life
Holds manifold secrets
To beauty untold
But that beauty
We refute
And I wish there was something I could do.
Besides stand by
Stand high
Lie on my couch of self doubt
Wonder if there’s a way out
Of these mists
Of the myths of betterness
But patience is the steed of this valley
And how we react is our only hope.
And I can only hope
I’ll never stop the letters
Of something better to our future
Because love is our future
And it’s got me this far
We’ve made it this far
So what if it’s hard
Harder than before
We’ll get more in return
And that flame will burn
Orange rimmed holes
Into everything that keeps us
From being whole
And I’ll hold fast
To everything I was
And everything I will be
Because through it all
I’ll still be
Fair skinned, heraldin’ hopeful times.
